Social Responsibility - Log 3

Social Responsibility - log 3

  • explain what you did in terms of social responsibility
  • You must explain what level that is and why it is at that level
  • Be specific about what you did... include events, people involved the context
  • finally you must explain the effect that your actions are having on the team the group or on other individuals

When playing basketball on Monday I demonstrated self-direction. This means that I was working at a level 3. Although I didn't have the experience as everyone else in my team I still put 100% effort into what I was doing. I didn't have the skills needed for basketball and there were a lot of other people in the class who did which meant that they had that advantage over me. I still continued to push myself to play my best despite not being as skillful. I think that I was working at this level because I was playing my best and being fully active within my group. This may have caused me to appear more skilled than I actually am making me less of a weakness on our team and the opposing team weren't picking on me.

Social Responsibility - Log 5

Social Responsibility - log 5

When I am working I demonstrate a level 4-5 of social responsibility. I show a very high level of co-operation and I am positively involved with the wider community. When I am at work, I always work to the best of my ability. Along with doing my own job (washing dishes) I always help out the kitchen or front staff with whatever they need assisting with. I also get to talk to and help out customers as well even though my job isn't to work out front. These extra helping jobs include, cleaning, delivering food and assisting customers. I am always nice to everyone whilst doing extra jobs as well.
This has affected my co-workers positively as they are always less stressed about having to do multiple things at once. This has also helped me gain better work experience as I am able to work in the kitchen and front of house now and I am able to speak confidently to customers.

Last term I joined the first XI girls soccer team and demonstrated social responsibility at level 4. I demonstrated a high level of self-direction. This means that I organised myself without having anyone else tell me what to do. I always brought the right gear for games, got to the field and vans on time and organised my position on field without our coach or captain asking me to. The effect this had was that the leaders were able to get other important things done. They didn't have to stress about organizing one more person.
I was fair and honest during games. I worked well with my peers and the opposing team. Soccer is an intense sport, but I still played fairly and safely. Playing fairly and safely has the effect of people being safe on the field and there is less conflict between players. As a result, I was never told off for being dangerous and I got along well with the opposing team.
