Social responsibility - Log 2

Social responsibility - Log 2

  • explain what you did in terms of social responsibility
  • You must explain what level that is and why it is at that level
  • Be specific about what you did... include events, people involved the context
  • finally you must explain the effect that your actions are having on the team the group or on other individuals
Yesterday was our schools annual whanau day. I participated in many activities in which I demonstrated social responsibility. I think that I was working at a level 4. I demonstrated a high level of self-direction and also encouragement to not only my team but the other whanau houses as well. I organised myself without anyone else telling me to and stood up for my team when someone was needed to for example volunteering to go first in an activity. I cheered on the other whanau houses and offered my help when I seen they were struggling.
The effect this had on our whanau was that I had stepped up for the team and this had influenced the others to participate in the activities as well. Me stepping up reduced time wasted on organizing our team. It helped us win many of the activities first.

Social Responsibility - Log 1

In P.e on Wednesday I demonstrated social responsibility while playing modified touch. My group consisted of four players with different levels of fitness and skill. I communicated with my team and we discussed a defense strategy which was man on man defense. I had marked someone who was relatively my size or the slowest. We also later discussed that it was better if we stayed on our try line until they came closer because we were getting tired quickly. So when the opposing team had the ball I stayed on our try line following my marked persons movement (side to side). Until they came up closer my team had to push up creating a zone so the opposing team couldn’t get past us to the try line and they wouldn’t be able to pass the ball to each other. I could see that the other team was struggling to score tries. This helped my team be more successful in winning games.
